Mariah The Scientist
R&B

R&B singer-songwriter Mariah The Scientist hails from Atlanta, GA, and is releasing her first studio album on Epic Records, To Be Eaten Alive, in October. Her core following, cultivated through viscous emotional expression on her first three projects—Master, Ry Ry World, and The Intermission—continues to grow and helps position her as one of R&B’s brightest young stars. Mariah’s musical curiosity was born in childhood, exposed to a variety of musical acts by her father. “Coldplay comes [to Atlanta], someone that he was definitely playing for me as a child, and then I open for them,” she recalls. From there, Mariah’s journey took her to NYC via St. John’s University, where she studied biology. Though she halted her scholastic pursuit to chase her dreams as an entertainer, the “Scientist” moniker stuck with her. That said, it’s Mariah’s art that makes her unique.

The vulnerable, raw expression that composes much of Mariah The Scientist’s catalog distinguishes her from much of today’s mainstream landscape, something she’s keen on continuing even as her profile grows. From performances at Coachella and Pitchfork Music Festival to collaborations beside Lil Baby, Youngboy Never Broke Again, Chris Brown, A Boogie and Young Thug, there’s no debating that Mariah is worthy of the spotlight. Still, she refuses to take the opportunity to genuinely connect with her audience for granted. “I don't think that creating art should be super forced. When you try to force art, you don't like it. At least the creator winds up not liking it.. And a lot of times, people don't realize that.”

Chxrry22
R&B

Chxrry 22 isn’t looking for your approval. That immediately becomes clear after one listen to her dreamy debut single, “The Falls”. Smudging the lines between pop and R&B, she reveals that she’s fully aware of her imperfections, fearlessly admitting “I’d do it again, ‘cause baby I got problems.”

Born and raised by Ethiopian immigrants in the Scarborough district of Toronto, Chxrry 22 always loved to sing but never fully visualized the possibilities ahead of her. However, things changed in 2017 when she emerged as a promising talent after posting videos of herself singing covers on social media. Her perspective shifted when the videos went viral and landed her a deal with XO Records, the label headed by fellow Toronto native The Weeknd. Realizing she had created a rare opportunity for herself, she packed all of her things and moved to Atlanta to begin recording.

Chxrry 22’s vulnerability is her superpower, and she knows it. Her sensuous lyrics on “The Falls” prove that she has the right to do and say whatever she wants—regardless of how you feel.

DJ Honey
R&B

With nothing more than a secondhand mixing kit and an eclectic array of records, DJ Honey impressively burst onto the Philadelphia DJ scene back in 2010. Since then, they’ve become well-renowned for their creative ingenuity and original grooves. A slew of hot tracks and unconventional performances has elevated DJ Honey to a level few DJs ever reach. “It’s a challenge, but I wouldn’t change it for the world,” says DJ Honey.

She is passionate about the art, culture and feeling of all things music which is why she began deejaying at the age of 17. This rising star's talent and personality caught the attention of fellow DJs and venues in the Philadelphia and Washington, DC regions and has provided her an opportunity to showcase her skills throughout the Mid-Atlantic.

Growing a loyal fan base one event at a time, DJ Honey keeps crowds moving by playing a variety of music but definitely surprises those who misjudge her youthfulness with classic 90's mixes. Her diversity is also a strong suit and she enjoys playing genres that expand from the expected Hip-Hop all the way to Techno. Yes, she is young but her love for music has made her a student of the art and coupled with her dedication to please audiences there is no event Honey cannot handle.
